- Study Director/Principal Investigator. Study of how to incorporate social and environmental dimensions of sustainability into the planning, appraisal and delivery of major infrastructure projects in support of enhancing RAMP Project Management Handbook. This three year study undertaken by the OMEGA Centre, was funded by a £50,000 grant provided by UK Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and Actuarial Profession (AP), London.

- Study Director/Principal Investigator. International study of decision-making in the planning, appraisal and delivery of mega transport projects in ten countries in Europe, USA and Asia Pacific. This seven year study was funded by a SEK 30 million ‘Global Centre of Excellence Grant’ provided VREF, Gothenburg. This grant enabled the establishment of the OMEGA Centre at the Bartlett School of Planning, University College London (UCL) in collaboration with nine international university partners (see Omega Centre UCL). It subsequently led to design, development and introduction of a MSc programme at UCL in Mega Infrastructure Planning, Appraisal and Delivery (MIPAD) based on the findings of the two VREF OMEGA Centre Studies.
